PARISH LIFE

“It is a community of communities, a sanctuary where the thirsty come to drink in the midst of their journey, and a centre of constant missionary outreach.” Pope Francis

BECOME A PART OF OUR PARISH COMMUNITY

The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but the parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant community with an exciting parish life. Parish life at St Joseph Catholic Church is full of caring, sharing and committed parishioners willing and able to fulfill God’s work on earth.

Belonging leads to believing and today more than ever, people are hungering to belong. To feel a part of something, you have to become invested by supporting, believing and working hard to make it a reality. A sense of belonging leads to a desire to give back, which leads to true stewardship.

Let us all pour out our gifts and use them to help others so that we may be filled up again with God’s love and mercy. It is only through our goodness to others that we can all become true disciples of the Lord.

BLD-GVO St. Joseph Guelph Prayer Group - It has over 85 active members from the 2 Life in the Spirit Seminars, the recent Youth Life in the Spirit Seminar and members from Guelph, who were inactive before, but has “returned”. The GVO St. Joseph Guelph prayer group gathers every Friday and strives to reach out to members of the parish and the Guelph community as a whole, with the aspiration of becoming another DIP in the next two years, God willing. Our Healing mass is held every first Friday of the month at 7 p.m. and is celebrated by Diocesan priests. Since its inception, our healing masses are well attended not just by members, but parishioners of St. Joseph and neighbouring parishes in Guelph and Cambridge. Our weekly praise and worship on Fridays at 8 p.m., also held at St. Joseph church has become a source of inspiration and spiritual devotion to prayer group members and the parish community.
